The exhibition “Contemporary Italian art enters the Ministry” will be inaugurate on 9th June at 11:00 at Mims in the presence of the Minister of Sustainable Infrastructures and Mobility, Enrico Giovannini, of the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, the authorities, artists and media representatives.
L’arte contemporanea italiana entra al Ministero delle Infrastrutture e della Mobilità Sostenibili (Mims): : an initiative by Minister Enrico Giovannini which aims to enhance some works by established artists that will be entrusted to the Ministry of Porta Pia on a free loan.
The idea of exhibiting pictorial creations, sculptures and installations inside the Mims headquarters, including the Colonna recisa trasversalmente (1970-1971) di by Arnaldo Pomodoro, stems from what was created by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic with “Quirinale Contemporaneo” , and has the aim of showing to those who frequent the Ministry and the general public the expression of the excellent Italian creativity of the Republican period and to enrich the historical collections already present in the headquarters, enhancing their value.
The works of art by masters of recognized value, such as Chiara Dynys, Giosetta Fioroni, Giovanni Frangi, Emilio Isgrò, Massimo Listri, Giulia Napoleone, Alessandro Papetti, Paola Pezzi, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Pietro Ruffo, Sissi, Guido Strazza and Grazia Varisco were installed at the entrance of the building, in the reception rooms, in the Minister’s room and in the offices of the Cabinet staff, in the corridors and in the reception areas for guests, who will thus be able to appreciate their charm during their stay.
