Concerto per Architettura
From 19 September to 19 October 2018, the Foundation welcomes the personal exhibition of Roberto Pugliese (Naples, 1982), entitled Concerto per Architettura.
The exhibition is the second appointment with the new Project Room cycle of the Foundation, which makes its space and skills available to young curators and artists, to tell the public about the latest trends in contemporary sculpture.
After the solo show by Donato Piccolo, the second act of the Project Room 2018 has as its protagonist the Neapolitan artist Roberto Pugliese, who imagines Concerto per Architettura, an audio composition created specifically for the spaces of the Project Room, whose architectural plans are used for re-elaborate some numerical values later assigned to a series of genetic algorithms and complex functions.
These processes, thanks to an acoustic mathematical relationship, were used to generate sound material that was later reworked by Pugliese.
The result is a sound sculpture that spreads in the spaces of the Foundation making the most of architectural resonances in order to give back to the space its own "voice". An actual Concerto per Architettura that will be performed by Roberto Pugliese on the evening of the opening, and then reproduced for the entire duration of the exhibition. Pietro Lama (1988), a young sound designer and video artist, as well as an ex-pupil of Pugliese, will accompany the artist creating an ad hoc projection coordinated with music.
