A guided tour of the most emblematic places in Milan, to discover the works that Arnaldo Pomodoro has created for the city where he has lived and worked for over fifty years.
From the moment they were designed, the Maestro's sculptures have been intimately connected to the city and its history. Underlying each creation is a new idea of monumental sculpture and the search for the dynamic relationship with the surrounding space.
From Via Conservatorio to the heart of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, passing through Piazza della Scala, with this itinerary you will begin to look at the works of Arnaldo Pomodoro from a different perspective, to consider them pretexts, 'hypotheses of memory' against the complexity and fragmentation of the contemporary world.
You will discover that Il Grande Disco, La Torre a Spirale and La Lancia di Luce are not only monuments, but also food for thought.
The works at the Banca Popolare di Milano - Piazza Meda and Assimpredil Ance - via San Maurilio can be visited every day except Saturday, when the locations are closed.
The Poldi Pezzoli Museum includes access only to La Sala delle Armi, so it is not necessary to purchase a ticket. If you are interested in visiting the entire Museum, you will find all the information at: www.museopoldipezzoli.it.
We would like to thank: Museo Poldi di Pezzoli, Gallerie d'Italia - Piazza Scala; Banca Popolare di Milano - Piazza Meda; Assimpredil Ance and the Conservatorio di Milano
