Since its establishment, the Foundation has been responsible for the Archive of Arnaldo Pomodoro\u2014a fundamental asset for understanding the artist\u2019s research and work\u2014ensuring its preservation and public accessibility at multiple levels, through a range of scholarly projects and various outreach initiatives.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t

The Archive developed in parallel with Pomodoro\u2019s artistic practice, as the artist\u2014drawing on his previous experience as a surveyor\u2014understood from the very beginning of his career the importance of collecting and preserving documentation of his work. The wide variety of materials that make up the Archive bears witness not only to his artistic research, but also to his extensive network of professional relationships, which\u2014spanning the second half of the twentieth century and the first two decades of our century\u2014also provide a cross-section of the national and international intellectual scene of that historical period.<\/p>\n

Organized into six sections (Library, Photographs, Audiovisual Materials, Correspondence, Working Papers, and Miscellaneous Materials), the Archive is in a continuous phase of study, cataloguing, and digitization\u2014ongoing activities through which the Foundation, by the artist\u2019s own will, is committed to enhancing and making this heritage freely accessible to the widest possible audience. For this reason, following the publication of the Catalogue Raisonn\u00e9 of Sculpture<\/em><\/a> (2007), the Foundation launched the Catalogue Raisonn\u00e9<\/u><\/em><\/a> (2018) and the Online Archive<\/u><\/a> (2019) projects, while also encouraging and supporting research and on-site consultation<\/a> by professionals, students, and scholars, establishing partnerships and collaborations with other public and private institutions, and granting loans of archival materials for temporary exhibitions of scientific relevance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t

The Foundation itself draws on the artist\u2019s archival heritage on a daily basis to build and enrich its cultural offerings: from exhibitions to publishing projects, from educational and outreach activities to special events and extraordinary openings of the Archive itself.<\/p>\n

Born in the early 1950s as a working tool to support Pomodoro\u2019s practice, the Archive today stands as both a repository of memories and a living instrument for understanding the artist and the artistic and cultural scene of the years in which he lived.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n<\/div><\/div>\n\t\t
