With the exhibition A Perfect Shop-Front<\/em><\/strong> by Kasper Bosmans<\/strong> (Lommel, 1990), the Foundation presents the first event of the new exhibition cycle of the Project Room<\/em>, a \u201cobservatory\u201d project dedicated to the most recent developments in the international art scene, entrusted for 2021 to guest curator<\/em> Eva Fabbris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his work, Bosmans<\/strong> combines socio-political themes and different historical-cultural contexts in forms that draw from heraldic repertoires, the symbolism of folklore, the tradition of ready-made<\/em>, and the history of decoration. Combined in a highly subjective manner, these elements merge into works that tell and theorize unusual mythologies<\/strong>, attempting to find new ways of telling knowledge<\/strong>. Anecdotes from different times and places are transposed into paintings, installations<\/strong>, and elegant, witty, and ironic objects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the occasion of Project Room #13<\/strong><\/em>, the artist has designed and directed, entirely remotely, a complex intervention<\/strong> in which the elements of his practice are linked to some strictly contemporary issues<\/strong>, such as environmental disasters and the physical limitations imposed by the pandemic<\/strong>. The collection of works triggers a dimension of fl\u00e2nerie<\/em> that is far from disengaged<\/strong>, where the viewer encounters references to political consciousness in forms that stem from a radical approach to folk art<\/strong>, balancing between concept and the history of materials.<\/p>\n

The exhibition has been extended until June 18, 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
