The artist says: in the Scudi and in the Rive dei mari I believe both the suggestions of the cuttlefish bone, with its extraordinary elementary and pure value, and the the imagery that is given to us by the surface of the sea, its motion, its beach – and also other motifs: the dress, the reception of light, the shell itself as a shield, the fantastic projection of the mind in sleep.
