After Emilio Isgrò and Velasco Vitali, in 2024, it is Arnaldo Pomodoro who will design the image for the fourteenth edition of Taobuk (Taormina, June 20–24, 2024), the festival that embraces the city's "literary sediments," a synthesis of its history, filled with events, myths, experiences, and traditions. As every year, Taobuk chooses a theme around which a series of meetings will be organized, with the participation of distinguished writers, artists, philosophers, and scientists: the theme for 2024 is "identity."
For Taobuk, Arnaldo Pomodoro has designed The Antenna of Time, a conceptual reworking of the archetypal symbol of the arrow, a tribute to the theme of identity as an intersection of spatial and temporal axes that connect individuality and otherness, past and future, dream and reality.
To celebrate the presentation of the Taobuk Award to Arnaldo Pomodoro, on Thursday, June 20, the Giardino Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano / BPER Agorà will host a talk titled “Identity and Otherness. The Antenna of Time”. Speakers include Federico Giani (Curator of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation) and Paola Gribaudo (President of the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and member of the Scientific Committee of Taobuk). The talk will be moderated by Roberta Scorranese (Corriere della Sera).
