An unmissable opportunity to celebrate one of the most important Italian composers is scheduled in Milan on Friday, March 9, 2007.
The Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro hosted the great musician Ennio Morricone, who was awarded the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement in February 2007.
During the evening, Morricone shared his experiences as a musician, recalling the most curious anecdotes from his career and evoking the characters who accompanied him on his professional journey. The audience had the opportunity to ask Morricone questions about the various stages of his career and also to listen to some of the most famous arias from his repertoire.
Two great musicians, Francesco Arcangeli (first violin of La Scala) and Sandro Cerino (saxophone and flute), paid tribute to Morricone by performing some of his most famous themes.
This event marked the conclusion of the first quarter of the “Thursdays at the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro”, an initiative that hosted some of the most prominent figures in Italian culture in 2007, such as Lina Wertmüller, Enrico Job, Roberto Vecchioni, Ron, Alfredo Rapetti, Moni Ovadia, Margherita Hack, Dario Vergassola, Giulio Giorello, as well as a series of film screenings about artists such as Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Marino Marini, Giacomo Balla, Mario Ceroli, Pino Pascali, Alexander Calder, Giulio Turcato, Vedova, Dorazio, Enzo Cucchi, Barichello, Vettor Pisani, and Mimmo Rotella.
