The Foundation’s Collection does not have a permanent exhibition venue: in order to enhance it and allow the public to discover it, the Foundation activates loans for temporary exhibitions and long-term loans with public and private institutions.

Born with a nucleus of twenty-eight works donated by the artist when the Foundation was established, the Collection now includes more than two hundred works by Arnaldo Pomodoro, including sculptures and drawings, created from 1955 to today and selected by the sculptor himself to document the fundamental steps of his artistic research. The Collection also includes about ninety works by other artists, donated by them or by private collectors who have thus wished to support the Foundation.

Conservation and Restoration

The Foundation promotes the conservation of Arnaldo Pomodoro’s works and supervises their restoration, acting as a primary interlocutor for collectors, professionals and institutions.

All practices are coordinated by the conservation managers and conducted, as needed, by competent professionals appointed by them.

Checking

The Foundation provides a free service to check the works of Arnaldo Pomodoro already present in the Archive.

To request it, it is necessary to send an email to archivio@fondazionearnaldopomodoro.it attaching:

1. digital reproductions of the front / back, with possible details of the signature and / or numbering;

2. the work of art entry, completed in all its parts and signed.

The Foundation will only be able to check if it possesses complete documentation. The time to expedite the requests is variable from work to work and depends on the number of requests pending. In some cases, the Foundation reserves the right to request a direct view of the work.

The Foundation does not carry out any kind of economic evaluation of the works.

Authentication

The request for authentication and archiving can only be initiated following a positive opinion to the check of the work.

Documentation required for authentication:

1. HD digital reproduction of the front/back of the artwork (at least 300dpi), with possible details of the signature and / or numbering;
2. two 18 × 24cm prints of each reproduction;
3. the work of art entry, completed and signed during the check phase.

To be sent in a single closed envelope to: Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro, Via Vigevano, 9 – 20144 Milan.

The Foundation issues only one copy of the certificate. To avoid any misunderstanding, duplicates will not be issued.

Release forms and copyright

Arnaldo Pomodoro owns all reproduction rights for the use of his works and his writings.

To request authorization for images and texts, send a request to l.berra@fondazionearnaldopomodoro.it, with precise information on the purpose of the request.

Without authorization, reproduction in any form and by any means, electronic or mechanical, is not permitted.
