On Saturday, June 7, 2014, during the closing night of the 13th International Festival of Art Cinema in the courtyard of the Palazzo Reale in Milan, three films produced by the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation will be screened.
The evening begins with Atto Unico by Jannis Kounellis, filmed by Ermanno Olmi during the setup of Jannis Kounellis' solo exhibition at the Foundation in 2006; a documentary described by Olmi himself as a "stalker-film," capable of transmitting the "resonance of images that still persist in memory, like the end of a beautiful journey." Following this is Arnaldo Pomodoro. Great Works 1972-2008, filmed by Sabina Bologna and Marianna Schivardi during Pomodoro’s eponymous exhibition at the Foundation in 2009. This video tells the story of the artist and the institution, as well as the setup and inauguration of the exhibition. Finally, O Labirinto by Piergiorgio Gay will be screened, documenting the performance by Federica Fracassi based on verses by Aldo Nove in 2011, during the public presentation of the Ingresso nel Labirinto (1955-2011) environment. The work, located in the basement of Via Solari 25, the former museum headquarters of the Foundation and now the Milan headquarters of Fendi, is accessible through guided tours organized by the Foundation.
