Saturday, December 3rd, the Auditorium of the Fondazione Piacenza e Vigevano, located at via Sant’Eufemia 12/13 in Piacenza, will host the Piacenza Sperimentale conference, a day to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “First Experimental Film Festival” held in Piacenza in1972.
Between the late 1960s and early 1970s, the artistic and cultural scene in Piacenza was particularly vibrant. Thanks to the efforts of some young artists and cultural operators, several public events were held in the city, in line with the most important avant-garde experiments of the time. Among them, in February 1972, the “First Experimental Film Festival” was held in Piacenza at the Teatro dei Filodrammatici, organized by Ugo Locatelli and Raffaele Perrotta with the assistance of film critic Giulio Cattivelli.
The day dedicated to recalling and deepening this moment in Italian artistic culture includes presentations and screenings, including the film SHAPING NEGATION – LA FORMA NEGATIVA. Arnaldo Pomodoro in the 1970, 1970 (directed by Francesco Leonetti, Ugo Mulas, Arnaldo Pomodoro), provided by the Arnaldo Pomodoro Archive and always available for free on the online Archive portal.
