October 10, 2026 – January 10, 2027
Castello Campori – Piazza Fratelli Sassi 2, Soliera (MO)
To mark the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth, Soliera is presenting a new exhibition dedicated to Arnaldo Pomodoro, curated by Andrea Tinterri and Ilaria Sgaravatto—the first exhibition entirely devoted to the photographic section of his archive.
The exhibition Arnaldo Pomodoro, un racconto fotografico, created in collaboration with the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, presents the artist’s work and research through a selection of one hundred original prints produced between the 1960s and the 1990s. In dialogue with three significant sculptural works — Disco solare (1989–1990) and studies for Progetto per il nuovo cimitero di Urbino (1973) and The Pietrarubbia Group (1975) — photographs by artists including Ugo Mulas, Maria Mulas, Mario Dondero, Carlo Orsi, Giuseppe Pino, and Paolo Monti convey not only the transformation of matter throughout the creative process, but also the artist’s relationship with public space and with the exhibition spaces of galleries and other institutions that have hosted Arnaldo Pomodoro’s work over the years.
The exhibition explores the entire creative process, with a particular focus on the metamorphosis of the material and its transformation into a work of art. The archive reveals the artist’s desire to document his work through images, from the modeling phase to its installation in public spaces, including the casting process.
Also of considerable interest are several large photo albums—never before exhibited—featuring images selected by Pomodoro himself, which trace much of his work, offering an autobiography in images and a careful review of his artistic practic
