The exhibition "Lancia di Luce. Birth of a Masterpiece" is a narrative and documentary journey dedicated to the creation of Arnaldo Pomodoro's renowned work, an iconic symbol of the city of Terni.
Created to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the sculpture's installation, the exhibition tells the creative, technical, and human journey that led to the birth of this monumental work, from the initial idea to its placement in one of the city's key locations.
The Lancia di Luce is not just a monument: it is an emblem of Terni's industrial and social history, a symbol of transformation and collective growth, brought to life thanks to the contribution of the Terni Steelworks, the genius of one of the greatest contemporary sculptors, and the expertise of highly skilled technicians.
The exhibition "Lancia di Luce. Birth of a Masterpiece." is designed as an immersive journey into Arnaldo Pomodoro's renowned sculpture and its deep connection with the city of Terni. It tells a story that intertwines art, industry, and community, allowing visitors to rediscover the living symbol of a city in constant evolution. Through meticulous research and selection of historical materials, the display combines photographs, archival documents, videos, and original designs with a carefully crafted visual narrative, guiding the audience through the key stages of the artwork's creation.
The exhibition path is inspired by fundamental values: work as a tool for improvement, creativity as a means to understand the present and envision the future, and collective effort as a way to surpass individual limits ultimately, as in this case, achieving a beauty that defies time.
The exhibition features three design drawings on loan from the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation Collection.
