ORIZZONTE
Parole, immagini e musica per edificare il futuro
curated by Giovanni Caccamo
March 1 - December 13, 2024
Studio Arnaldo Pomodoro, Via Vigevano 3, Milan
This year too, the Festival "ORIZZONTE – Parole, immagini e musica per edificare il futuro” offers cultural events of various kinds in the Arnaldo Pomodoro studio : special opportunities to meet the artists, intimate conversations in which the protagonists, as in a living room, tell the public less well-known aspects of their work, anecdotes and curiosities , embellished with some small live performances.
After the first exceptional event on Thursday, March 14th, featuring Ornella Vanoni, one of the leading figures in Italian music, who shared a long friendship with Maestro Arnaldo Pomodoro, the following program highlights included the pianist Alessio Nelli – who performed at the Foundation on May 18th, as part of Piano City, during the finissage of the exhibition Open Studio #2. The Negation of Form. Arnaldo Pomodoro between Minimalism and Counterculture –, music icon Patty Pravo on May 23rd, and Riccardo Zanotti, frontman of Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, in a “start of summer” event on June 20th.
The program resumes after the summer break on November 6th with Caterina Caselli. Following that, the international dance star Roberto Bolle will perform on November 20th, in collaboration with the Roberto Bolle Foundation, and Claudio Santamaria, one of the most beloved actors in Italian cinema, will join journalist and writer Francesca Barra on December 13th.
“I am proud and happy to carry forward this precious assignment received from Maestro Arnaldo Pomodoro and his Foundation, with whom I share values and visions” says Giovanni Caccamo. “I will put myself at the service of beauty, in the construction of new opportunities for dialogue and synesthetic encounter. – Caccamo continues – In this moment of apnea it is necessary for all forms of art to come together to lead us towards a rebirth, in the awareness that the darkness always holds the precious opportunity to turn on a light.”
The program curated by Giovanni Caccamo for the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation underlines the vocation of the Foundation itself to be increasingly an open cultural laboratory, capable of spreading art in all its forms to the widest possible audience.
The main sponsor of Orizzonte is the philanthropist Alessia Zanelli who has always believed in art and culture as key tools for building the future and nourishing the soul.
Supporting the first four events of the program there will also be the energy of Pulsee Luce e Gas which, thanks to Pulsee Play For Future, promotes creativity and innovation in various sectors to design a sustainable future and actively participate in the evolution of society.
