To make the Archive of Arnaldo Pomodoro an even more accessible place—both physically and digitally—for its users, Ilaria Sgaravatto, Archivist, and Laura Berra, Project Coordinator of the Catalogue Raisonné, co-author RECTO/VERSO, a newsletter created to keep subscribers to the Catalogue Raisonné and the Online Archive updated on the Foundation’s regular and special activities, carried out to keep the artist’s Archive a living space for research and knowledge.
RECTO/VERSO evokes the act of turning something over that an archivist performs when holding an unfamiliar photograph: hopefully, they flip the print to see whether someone in the past has left useful information written on the back to understand when, where, by whom, and why the photo was taken. Through these installments, the stories and the ongoing work that lie beneath the surface of things are revealed.
