Anima Etrusca / Etruscan Soul. La fortuna del Progetto Etruschi
Civic Museums, San Gimignano, Santa Chiara Museum Complex, Via Folgore 9A
July 4, 2025 – January 11, 2026
The exhibition, which will be held in San Gimignano at the Santa Chiara museum complex – Via Folgore, 9A – from July 4 until January 11, 2026, inaugurates the program of activities of the museums belonging to the Fondazione Musei Senesi network, promoted to commemorate the “Progetto Etruschi”, conceived and organized by the Tuscany Region in 1985.
An extraordinary project both for Etruscology and its academic developments as well as for museography, as well as for inspiring new contemporary production.
Anima Etrusca / Etruscan Soul tells, forty years later, the complexity of the “Progetto Etruschi” through an immersive journey in time and space that weaves together original materials, archaeological finds, works of art, photographs, videos, and documents, with a section dedicated to the relationship between Gabriele D’Annunzio, the Etruscans, Volterra, and San Gimignano through period documents and materials.
Among the works on display are also the drawings and the bronze model of the Progetto per il nuovo cimitero di Urbino (1973) by Arnaldo Pomodoro, on loan from the Collection of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation.
